The first time someone sent me a RedNote video, I spent ten embarrassing minutes trying to figure out how to keep it. I tapped everything. I long-pressed the video. I even tried emailing the link to myself, as if that would help.
It turns out the whole thing takes under a minute once you know the order. Here is exactly what I do now, step by step.
What you need before starting
Not much. You need the RedNote app (or the link someone sent you), plus a browser — Safari, Chrome, Firefox, whatever you already use. No installs, no account, no storage cleanup required. This works on iPhone, Android, tablets, Mac, and Windows.
Step 1: Copy the video link in the RedNote app
Open the video you want. Tap the Share icon — usually an arrow on the side of the post — and choose Copy Link.
If a friend sent you the link in a chat, just copy it from there. Links can look like short share codes or longer page addresses. Either form works as long as it came from the RedNote or Xiaohongshu app.
Small tip: if the copy button does not respond, tap the post once to pause it first, then open Share again. It works every time for me.
Step 2: Paste the link into the downloader
Go to the downloader box at the top of this site’s homepage. Tap the input field and paste your link. There is a Paste button inside the field if your phone makes long-pressing awkward.
Then press Get Video Without Watermark.
The tool checks the link and pulls up a preview card within a few seconds. This is my favorite part, because it stops mistakes: you see the video title, the creator, the duration, and the available resolution before downloading anything. If you pasted the wrong link, you will know immediately.
Step 3: Choose what to save and download
On the preview card you will see the main Download Video button, plus two smaller options for Audio (MP3) and Cover Photo.
- Want the full clip? Hit Download Video. You get a standard MP4 file in the original quality — usually 1080p Full HD, sometimes 4K — with no watermark stamped on it.
- Only liked the background track? Grab the MP3 instead.
- Saving an aesthetic post for a moodboard? The cover photo saves as a high-resolution image.
For multi-photo notes, the same flow applies: paste the note link and save the individual slides as full images rather than screenshots.
Step 4: Find the file and move it to your gallery
This is where people get confused, so here is the breakdown by device:
On Android: the file drops into your Downloads folder and shows up in Gallery or Google Photos right away. Done.
On iPhone and iPad: Safari puts it in the Downloads section first. Open the download from the address bar icon (or the Files app), tap the Share icon, and choose Save Video. It then appears in your Camera Roll like anything else you filmed.
On PC or Mac: check your Downloads folder. The MP4 plays in any default player, and you can drag it wherever you keep your media.
Fixing the two problems everyone hits
“It says the link is invalid.” Nine times out of ten the link got cut off when copying from a chat app. Go back to the RedNote post, use the Share menu’s Copy Link option directly, and paste the full thing.
“The video looks blurry.” That usually means the original post itself was uploaded at lower quality, or your connection dropped mid-download. Re-paste the link on stable Wi-Fi and check the resolution shown on the preview card — what you see there is what you will get.
A quick note on doing this right
Download for yourself: offline study, recipe references, travel plans, editing practice. If you repost or share someone’s video anywhere, credit the creator clearly. It takes five seconds and it is the reason people keep posting good things.
